True, simply positing the existence of a creator - by itself - doesn't necessarily tell us anything about the creator.

But let's use our reason .... why would a creating being go to the trouble of designing a universe and designing a coding system so living beings can come into existence? Furthermore, these living beings in this designed universe continue to change over time ... until some of them develop conscious and intelligent minds of their own that can contemplate the universe itself and themselves. The magic and mystery just gets bigger and bigger. Can this all by coincidence? Accident? Seems illogical to me.

I think its logical that the creator must want living things to exist, must want intelligent living things to exist.

Also its logical that the creator doesn't experience time and space as we do .... so that business about the universe being far older than us and vast in size probably isn't too important in the creator's eyes.

Now if the creator wants intelligent living things to exist .... then its logical he might want to contact such living beings, communicate some things to them. How would he do that?

Keep asking questions and thinking about them.

I've been always struck how societies with large number of atheists (Japan and Finland come to mind) how moral and well-behaved the people are.

Go back a few decades and those moral well-behaved Japanese were behaving pretty badly at Nanking and other places. The well-behaved Finns were fighting under the swastika.
