The tiresome factor is the constant, willful shutting out of facts and evidence. The only thing we have learned from this little herd is how much that slice of the electorate no longer operates in a fact-based world, but rather the universe they have invented and bent to fit. We literally have dozens and dozens of posts where factual evidence and responses were just ignored.

Isn't that how people thought back in the Dark Ages? Sounds familiar....

As with PFP, threads are cleaner and more pleasant when attack trolls are kept out. That's just the way it is. It's like that on the right, and it's like that on the left. And this thread used to lean left- back when it was mostly pleasant. We all know what the threads look like that don't have moderators- they degenerate into hurled insults, or at the very best, hurled position papers. I'm not sure what's gained by all that "freedom"- but if people love it so much, there are plenty of threads for it. They are boring, angry, threads- but there are plenty of them. So it's weird that folks want to mess up a thread that wasn't like that, in the name of "freedom" and "tolerance"- but I guess it's like f*cking for virginity. Ya gotta laugh when trolls try to pull the tolerance card.

Free association, it's in the constitution, means we don't have to associate with people we don't like. IMO that's a more useful clause than the right to carry a gun, since you can use it in more social situations. It's not a clause you see the wingers and baggers mention much, though. Which is interesting.

Disagreement is bashing? Why shouldn't I consider your disagreement with me obstinate bashing? I find this viewpoint very arrogant.

You can't debate at all unless you talk to people who disagree with you.
