Alex - I think that you made a smart move. If you have made money on the put (and I suspect that you made a tidy profit) it is a good idea to get out when the cost is so low. If it doesn't sell off, then oh well, you just got out with a nice profit. If it does, your profits will evaporate and you could end up with a loss (depending on the price you sold at, of course). In my opinion the risk/reward ratio makes it clear.

p.s. I have been selling the 45's and 40's and got out of the last of my position today...
