SnP, The circus sells tickets, and they sell well. Each candidate performs, some by whipping the lions, others by making bears ride bicycles, others by mocking others. A vigorous and difficult debate is needed. Instead we get sound bytes. There are plenty of citizens who simply do not participate in the games. But the voice of reason doesn't sell tickets to the circus. It's value is diminished, and the result is we sink further into schoolyard bickering. In airports when I see the news TV on I get sick to my stomach.
