I appreciate his opinion that we are spread thin and have injected ourselves into more disputes than necessary. Those are reasonable areas of debate. However, he has no moderation in his view of our foreign policy. To him, if we have a base in any country but ours, we are invaders. If we put pressure on rogue nations led by anti American dictators, we are damn imperialists. Personally, I think we have a greater responsibility than that -- to our allies and to ourselves.
