re Oil - if growth in the US and Europe goes to zero and the rest of the world plugs along, oil might not crumble. For one thing the production numbers from many major's YOY were fairly bad (I looked at TOT, E, XOM (ex acqusition) etc.) and seem to indicate supply constraints. Libya is not helping either.

If we get a really deep recession 2008 style, nothing will hold up, including crude. As for the clownbuck thesis, the currency exchange rates speak for themselves. Despite the crisis in Europe for example, the Euro is closer to it's peak than it's bottom and up 15% YOY. Same for Yen, Real, AUD, Yuan and pretty much any other currency I can think of. I expect more of the same and I don't like it one little bit.
