my friend commented, and i agree, "“In Britain everything is policed except crime.” Gotta like this guy."

just in in-tray, something about japan, but really about usa
i suspect usa would not be as lucky as japan, unless team usa can export to martians for galactic reserve currency a/k/a pgm

Sub: A friend of mine has been tracking the correlations of Japan's equity markets with the US equity markets

Here is his latest comment...

QUOTE -

Not to harp on this, but the Correlation between the Nikkei 225 from 1980-July 2001 and S&P500 1990-current is 75%....I just updated it for the "fun" of it.

I'm not a PH.D in math but a 75% correlation using two completely different time periods is a bit scary. Statistically that's not supposed to happen. Its suggests there is a variable that was present in both situations that was responsible. Let's see....

Stock Market Bubble - Check
Property Market Bubble - Check
Keynes Driven Central Bank - Check
Keynes Driven Government - Check
Zombie Banking System - Check

mmmmmm......doesn't bode well for the future does it?

It suggests that we should be doing the exact opposite of Japan....
