Oh my, has been a really busy time here at home. Thank you Karen for thinking about me. I lost what I was typing to cyberspace and made me so mad. Turned to answer the phone and hit the something I think and off it went to who knows where. So I start again.

Your lunch bunch sounded like you planned a good time. Hope you all had some good luck this time. Know what you mean about donating to the local Indian tribes. We have gone to them before and I don't recall having any luck at all. Their machines are all so tight and even on their blackjack tables you have to put up a dollar for the house each hand. They know where every bit of money is at all times too and then they had already started using paper tickets in their machines. Their buffets were always good and enjoyed them more than playing at them, but they do share their profits with their tribe members so guess our lost money helps support them also. They do not have to follow the same regulations as a regular casino has to and do not pay out as big a percentage as public ones are required to.

Our youngest daughter had a knee replacement on the 15th and is doing well. She is now at a therapy clinic and says her pain is subsiding. The next day they put her on a machine that moves her leg up and down as well as both ways sideways and she says that has really helped. That is something new added. The machine went with her so she now has therapy 24/7. When she is finished there and comes home she plans to come over to our home every day and go up and down the stairs and will be on her own therapy schedule. She had been helping me get all my files straightened out and all the dead files taken out and put in file boxes. If she is able said she would be back to help again and it really helped me get things done in my office. I have my desk cleaned off and one pile of things I am working on and my calendar in the clear and can see more of the glass top. The cats are very happy to have their space back to sleep beside me. Of course they hop on my lap from time to time for their attention time and I try to brush them when that happens and they purr so loud about it. My newest Bengal cat, Mr. Libby, now weighs about eighteen pounds and is almost as big as a dog. I can hardly lift him up. He is such a big goof and show off. He is still not happy with Lovey and don't know how long it will take for him to accept her presence. She was here before him and he certainly doesn't respect her seniority.

We lost another member of our "Sassy 49er's" lunch bunch last Wednesday. She had been on dialysis for seven years and said the side effects had gotten so bad the last three months she no longer wanted to deal with them and stopped her treatments. Of course her kidneys shut down and she passed away. She wasn't able to come meet with us but a couple times a year and we were looking forward to going out to her retirement center to have lunch with her on the premises, but another member had to have eye surgery so we didn't get to do that and regret it. We hope to start back our monthly lunches next month. This year has not been a good year for us because of all the deaths that have happened. Hate to rush time but will be glad when a new year gets here to get this all behind us.

Have also been doing some re landscaping. We have a slope beyond our motor court down to the sidewalk out front and put in a ground cover and some green plants on the top side. We are on water rationing so started on our first day and put six inches of top soil and six inches of mulch down, planted and watered thoroughly. Our next watering day was Saturday so they came to make sure the sprinkler system was running long enough to water again. Every thing looks fine and hope everything continues to thrive. They also mulched all the other beds and replaced some shrubs that we lost last winter to a freeze. With the heat I stay inside until evening when we go out to dinner so it has not bothered me at all. I do prefer warm weather as opposed to cold. This old air conditioner has been keeping the inside cool as the temperatures rise and hope it doesn't kick out on us this year. Don't need that added to our expenses at all.

My daughter Trayce and I went to the casino last month and enjoyed it. We are planning a trip on her birthday next month and her daughter, Robyn, has asked for the weekend off to go with us. The three of us have such a good time and Robyn is such a comedian she keeps us continually laughing with her.

Guess that catches up for now, finished all my checkups for another six months, doing well and on the 19th of September have ten years survival behind me and can begin to feel more secure about not having it again. I will try to be better in signing in more often. I still have not read all the messages yet and think I'll just forgo them and start over again. Try to glance through them though and that seems to be time consuming as so much to catch up with. Hope all are having a good summer and think about you all even when I am not on line. I also think about Patti Bob and have made a note to myself to call her and see if her cell number I have is still good. Love & Hugs to All, Naomi
