After my post, I read that the DOJ was investigating S&P prior to the downgrade. The press was insinuating that the enquiry was instituted because of the downgrade. But now it appears the the S&P acted the way it did because of the enquiry. It is well established that the S&P adopts practices that needs to be looked into particularly after they missed Lehman and AIG. The American people need to know if S&P is abusing it's powers. I am all for it now that I learnt that this was done much before the downgrade. Sorry for speaking out too early.
