Glad to hear a Republican candidate make such a sensible statement, though to be completely accurate, the Theory of Evolution isn't something one "believes in." It's something one either understands, or not. I suppose one can decide not to accept the validity of mountains of observed evidence from biology, chemistry, geology, etc., all of which confirm what the T of E predicts, but then it's the data you're choosing not to believe, not the Theory itself.
