Please re read your earlier post and you used the "any" GOP candidate. And when I read that, I responded the way I did. Off course we each have some GOP candidates we like. My preference is either Romney or Huntsman. My first choice is Obama, and it will always be as such. But if that does not happen for what ever reason, then I hope it is either of this two. since we are going to have open primaries in CA, I intend to take part in the Republican primary and only vote for either of these two. I am even thinking of sending a small contributionn for each so that they do not drop out. I am willing to do anything to have the insurance that some bozo does not get elected to the WH.

* And GOP presidential hopeful Jon Huntsman, responding to rival Rick Perry’s comments yesterday, proudly proclaimed, “To be clear, I believe in evolution and trust scientists on global warming. Call me crazy.” If Huntsman thinks this will earn him Republican votes, he really is crazy.

I wanted to point out that I appreciate when you actually post your own sentiments. Posting articles is fine but nothing beats reading the poster's own words.

The danger in the 3rd party option is the Nader effect that contributed to the Gore loss in 2000.

The Republicans know they only need to keep it fairly close in the Electoral College.

They will then employ their strategy of stealing as many states as is required to win.

Since no meaningful election reforms were even considered when the Dems could have done it, we can probably chalk up GOP wins in Florida and Ohio without even having an election.

By keeping their blocks intact, the gun guys, anti-queer guys, the pro lifers, anti-tax guys and new this year, a massive racist component, and unlimited corporate money, courtesy of the Supreme Court, Obama already has his work cut out for him.

A significant protest contingent, wasting their votes on a Bernie Sanders, to "send a message" will play into the hands of the Bachmann/ Perry nightmare.

The GOP is already well advanced in establishing modern Jim Crow machinery to throttle the Dem vote.

Rigging the voting machines ala Ohio is settled art for the Republicans.

Not sure how much protest we can afford if we don't want a Tea Party run House, Senate, Supreme Court and White House.

Might be a better idea to reenergize the Dem base somehow. Get Dean back on the job somehow and dump Daley.
