Very well said, wonk. Some people are just immune to information that doesn't reinforce their blind prejudices, hence their frequent use of blinkers to screen it out.

<<<<<That talking point has been debunked so many times on this thread I’m not going to pull all the links again. Many don’t pay income tax, but they pay all the other taxes, and those other taxes cannot be avoided, and the taxes they pay are a far larger percentage of their disposable income that the income taxes that wealthier people pay.>>>>>>

Despite that some say I have "blind prejudices" , I disagree. We're talking here about taxes to run the federal government like fight the wars and pay food stamps and unemployment (at the national level) and so on. Tell me how the average wage earner contributes to these cost? Social Security is an item all by itself and I have been incensed with those who claim it is in trouble - because it's not. But those who claim the average working man contributes to fight our wars are just plain wrong. ............Does the average man pay his fair share at the state and local level - you bet and in the case of my state more than their fair share. But that has NOTHING to do with the cost of our federal runaway budgets.
