George W Bush left us on the precipice of a global economic armageddon. We could very easily have gone into a Depression far worse than in 1929. They didn't have super computers then running algorithms that no one understood. The world could easily have gone into disaster mode. We could have had a global run on banks and major civil unrest in Asia, Africa, the ME, and in Europe.

Instead Obama led the major countries in the industrialised and emerging market countries in coordination to a minor miracle - we averted a major disaster.

If Obama behaved like a major tough guy, like George W. Bush, or a hero out of an Ayn Rand novel, it would have made a lot of people happy but the end result would have been a major disaster. A tough guy attitude was the last thing that we needed.
