Well done.

Summarize your discussion.

I also have a son that needs to "get it".

Well, I explained very briefly and succinctly how gold or silver has backed currency for most of history, that pure paper has always foundered, related the 1913 creation of the fed, Roosevelt actions re: gold, then august 15, 1971, and what the French were doing, how the USD has floated ever since, how politicians cannot be trusted with an unbacked currency because they are tempted to provide what we cannot afford, how the USD has been overprinted, and how gold, being unreproducible and historically validated has responded. Related the debt bubble we are living thru and how debt has to be paid, and how repayment via overprinting works, and how gold has responded to inflation, ending with what's likely to happen.

He's not ready for Jesse's correlation or how Summers has validated gold via his work on Gibson 's paradox, but he is a very smart kid and I'll relate that soon enough.
