one of these things saying "What are you doing, Dave?" through a speech synth. As I recall in the movie those words were spoken by a computer who thought he was smarter than his human bosses, and probably was. And yet, we sympathize with the guy who was able to dismantle the darn overcharged abacus. True artificial intelligence, if and when it appears, will be hard to deal with, especially since those minds would continue to evolve, while ours wouldn't. From a POS (preservation of species) POV, it would be better if they would never develop cojones of their own. If we live long enough, maybe we'll find out.
