re Airlines - I recently purchased a ticket on short hand notice to Asia for business travel and was surprised about the low price I got for a direct flight with UAL. Might be seasonal or not but I purchased the same flight 1/2 a year ago (which i thought was slow season) and paid 35% more for the same flight then. I also know that a few companies have put a fairly stringent stop on all non-customer facing business travel in place. This occurred in June/July. Business travel is one of the first things to go in a weak economy, since it is an expense that is easy to cut.
