Trade deficits and thus eventually budget deficits are tied together, with the latter sooner or later following the former.

The relationship is remote at best...why you would chose to mention it is beyond me.

Admit that 'taxing the rich' doesn't make much of a dent in the budget deficit, OK?

It's 700B for the first ten years...it goes up from there. You need to understand that no single initiative solves the DEBT problem...cuts and modest tax increases are the only medicine. By the way, I have been an advocate of letting the bush tax cuts expire for everyone and return to clinton era rates as soon as economically practical...

So the main ( I didn't say 'only' this time...) reason for you libs pushing that agenda is a different one, right?

I am assuming you are implying that it's something other than debt reduction...if so, i am stumped...what is the agenda?
