Gold will do well whether QE3 comes to pass or not.

If QE3 is announced, it will do spectacularly, brilliantly, etc.

Still, QE3 is a bad idea. So, trusting and naive as I am, I don't think it will happen because policymakers are at heart wise and public-spirited men of vision.

My rapacious and speculative side, however, is loaded to the gills with gold so as to profit like pirate if it is enacted, not that gold has been, ah, unprofitable to date.
