But the rest of the debt probably COULD be eliminating by freezing the federal budget, although it would take more than a few years. As soon as America shows people that it has a single year's deficit under control, we'll see a resurgence in economic activity that will eliminate many of our economic problems, including the stagnated growth and unemployment. Fixing the oil problem would substantially improve the situation from there. Those two things, taken alone, are sufficient to solve our economic problems IMO.
