it's a bigger tv...that while you aren't there your kids can use it to surf net..
the tv will sub as a net device via rf keybd and mouse.
we'll still have 4 tv's and 3 vcr's and 2 other pcs.
this pc will allow you to surf net and pip a 24 inch screen of the packer's game<gg>

Tim, i am with you on this one, but can't say what the perception in general is 'out there'. Perhaps there is a market for it, i dont know.

Tim, I strongly however respectfully, disagree.
The technology known as IP Tag Switching is winning
bigtime, thanks to cisco. What this means to me in a
nutshell is just about everything will transport over the
IP stack.

Today, using MBONE, (now imbedded in most routers and OS's)
I can watch, from a number of sites low speed video from
any device anywhere over the world. One of the largest applications
that is being used today is IDL, Interactive Distance Learning.
Another is TeleMed. A doctor half way around the world gives
instructions on a operation or checks in with a patient on their
TV via IP. Put that over a ATM Platform the Telco's are now
building and you've got one hullva transport. Now CPQ is adding
DVD. I could IP (telenet) to a DVD server and pull down a
specific education course. I could go on for ever.

IP Tag will allow internetusers to have voice/video teleconf
and just about any other media I could want. Now couple that with Digital Sat such as DirectTV or Dish passing internet access over the dish and it gets bigger. I strong believe we will incorporate on
one platform for the home. IMHO
CPQ is all over the future. Good luck......
