Jorj, So unless a power is specifically given to the federal government in the Constitution, the federal government doesn't have that power. And unless the constitution specifically prohibits a power, the States and the people are free to do as they please.

The federal government was never meant to solve all of our problems.

But the US Constitution is pretty much ignored by our politicians (of both parties), both in specifics and in spirit.

This was the big issue which faced the framers of our Constitution, State rights vs Federal rights! The commerce clause greatly expanded the jurisdiction of the Federal Government. And, if I recall correctly, at this time has been supported by the Courts and past practice.

However, Kenneth, would be a better person to answer the content of this concern.
