Looks like this is going to play out all the way to the eventual top.

Kind of like Hollywood in the thirties making almost no movies about the depression until they were coming out of it.

Never made any about the injustices of the inequity of wealth. Where is Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous when we need a good push to do something about it?

"Just singing in the rain." (though that was obviously later)

Gold had a price bubble, but no one owned any. The people were envious, sad, and angry. Their brokers told them, "Don't be jealous just buy the dips in gold and gold stocks." The people did and gold stocks went up 1,000 fold. Everyone was margined to the gills, but no one spoke of a bubble. The people were very, very happy. This made a few like TheSlowLane and Nevada9999 very afraid. They sold all their gold stocks, established an intergalactic space program with some of the profits, moved to another planet and lived happily ever after.

Five hundred years from now this will be a little known fable from the Earth post-greenspan era circa 2020 :)
