Spending as a correlation of education success is pure BS. Our parish school does a superlative job at a fraction of the cost of the local public school system. Parents care and teachers teach the basics - what a concept.

The whole issue of what makes education a success is a discussion that can rapidly go where we do not want to go here.

Bob

PS: For free volunteers are a part of the success as well - eg district Science Fair results.

you are right about an orderly home. I would add that talented teachers also make a huge difference.

Well, Jake,

On Education......generally, lets agree, though there is more to the subject.

RE: your enviro identity

Look, if I don't call ya name, would you concede you could / would change your mind?
( for most treehuggers, that is impossible ---but for you, I don't know)

Second..........I care not where you live. Nor, how much you make, nor the color of your skin, etc.
However, I would like excoriate your defense or identity with Socialism. Most huggers don't understand capitalism, even though they hate it. Emotional hatred is not a substitute for analytical thinking.

So, what or how can you defend socialism, Cuba, USSR, etc.?
And, on what basis do you reject capitalism?

Perhaps your disposition for environmental academic rigor left you no time for economic rigor.
Do you really understand capitalism.......or is hatred simply a substitute for logic?
