Parx,

You have elegantly stated the potential of fonix's technology. How close they are to that now, how close they're capable of getting with current management and alliances, and how well the competition will do in the meantime all appear to be areas we're in disagreement on.

I'm not critical of Siemens; I think they've got a sweet deal - they buy the equivalent of a couple of lottery tickets, and while they're waiting to see if it pays off, they've got an exclusive agreement, which prevents their competition from buying tickets in the same lottery.

I'm not critical of fonix management (on this issue); I think they got the best deal they could.

I do not think this deal provides much credibility for fonix (and neither does Wall Street, it seems), because Siemens is not making much of a commitment. They can ditch this deal tomorrow, as far as I can tell.

"the next step is effective product production" - I agree, and remain skeptical, not that a product can be produced, but that it, and any others utilizing fonix technology, will provide more than $1.00/share profit by the end of the next 2-3 years. None of the fonix bulls, save Frank, have even tried to provide documentation to the contrary, and as you can see, I wasn't convinced by his assumptions that fonix/Siemens would capture essentially 100% of the cellular phone (or any other) market, which was key to his calculations.

Bob

Hi Parx,

Good that I have been away for a couple of hours, otherwise I would have needed to respond, which I couldn't have done better than you did due to the fact that English is still a foreign language to me.

There is one thing that people seem to not have realized here. Why is fonix talking only to semiconductor companies for the moment. The IBMs, the Dragons the Lernout et al why do they sell only software applications? Most probably the answer is that's all they can deliver so far.

As for the potatoes that Siemens is putting up, remember, Bob, this is just for one product. Add potatoes to potatoes and you'll end up having a plate of very tasty french fries.

You know, we could go on forever and end into a pissing contest which doesn't make sense. Today, it seems the market is on your side, Bob, but the bells will not ring when it decides to turn to my side.

There is plenty of money to be made in fonix even if you join in at higher prices later, so I accept your position. The only difference between you and me is, that I believe in the potential of the company today already and you are still sceptical. But one thing amuses me, you're negative on the company's prospects but you've always been hanging around here. Could it be that maybe deep inside you're afraid of missing something?<gg>

Take care,Bob, and have a good evening,

Frank

Parx, Nice to see your post. I understand that Fonix and Siemens have been in talks for quite some time. I realize that Fonix needs to start somewhere in their strategic alliances, do you have any idea why Siemens was the first. At this point in time is the Fonix technology more applicable to potential Siemens products rather than other companies or industries. What time frame would you estimate before Fonix moves into other industries. Have you heard anything new on a possible partnership with Intel ?

Parx and all !-
Wow, now we're starting to see some action aren't we? My position hasn't changed since about 6 mos. ago, I'm still in a watch and wait mode. There are a few things happening right now that I find very interesting. I have been amazed at the strength FONX has exhibited for the past six months, staying between $5-$8. This has led me to believe that there are enough money people out there that really believe in what is going on here, most companies in this predicament (delays, little progress, etc) are at the least much more volatile. It has, however, been interesting how when anything positive comes out the selling hits big time. Are these people losing patience and selling on news? I'm not saying that is the case but it sure appears to be so. My opinion of the Siemens deal is that much more has been read into it than it really is. I hope that what Parx said about the technology being much different than what was demonstrated in June is true. I am still confused as to why they would show us what they did and this scenario of open-minded and future-seeing people would make sense. I see both sides of the argument, it sounds as if they are only teaming up to finish this thing out yet it would seem that for Siemens to be interested the starting block would have to be pretty attractive. This company remains fascinating to me because they seem to be barking very loud yet nobody up to this point has got bit. I remain hopeful that this company which did such a good job of convincing me in the beginning doesnt disappoint us in the end. I hope that all will continue to keep up the great discussion in a very humane way. Happy Investing!
