Maybe a more collapsible plastic - although they're already way more that way than when we wore them.

Which raises a question - I don't recall there being this many concussions in my day or any year leading up to the "Virtually concussion proof" helmet. I've tried a revolution on - hated it - ti's too freakin light

Under the helmet padding would be the same hard protection there is now. The key is to simply better absorb and disperse the energy of a hit. I would think the added air bladder energy dispersion would more than compensate for any added danger of a more 'stuck" hit. Am hoping Oblivious talks to his friend for an industry perspective on this. Maybe we can make a difference!
