Just lucky, really.

Plus, I am a firm believer in manipulation as options expire. The data is pretty good. Here, gold traders were facing some fairly substantial exposures if gold stayed above 1800. It appears they cannot get it below 1700, so it seems that the volatility is over for now.

I wonder if the Chavez demand had anything to do with the run up to 1900? That was a swift and brutal rise but not one destined to be very solid. Soon enough, it will be.
