won't do a thing, the dems would just keep spending and that 5% yearly would wipe out retired people's savings.

That 10% would be a drop in the bucket and that would just give the dems an incentive to spend more. The dems would take in that 10% and spend 40%.

sure the the 10% would go to the debt but that wouldn't stop the dems from spending 40%. You just don't get it. It's the spending not the taxing
