Here's a post from AOL;

AS VEGAS, NEVADA, U.S.A., 1997 NOV 18 (Newsbytes) -- By Jacqueline Emigh. In an event held last night at the Hard Rock Cafe by Chromatic Research, together with Compaq, Toshiba and other DVD customers, exhausted reporters got a chance to rest their feet at a home entertainment center, and enjoy the technology they had come to cover.

Also at the event, which was attended by Newsbytes, Chromatic announced that Compaq had chosen its Mpact 2 media processor engine for the Compaq PC Theatre 9100.

I wonder if Chromatic tried to scale CUBE's 8 ft walls. I wonder if CUBE went out anywhere? PS is Chromatic only for the PC theatre or is it the DVD sol. for the whole line?

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., Nov. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Medar, Inc. (Nasdaq: MDXR) today announced that its Integral Vision Division has been named a supplier of up to $2.0 million of DVD inspection equipment to a major Taiwanese DVD manufacturer. Equipment to be delivered will include both standard DVD video and DVD read/write inspection systems. Releases totaling $1.0 million for delivery in the fourth quarter have been received with the remainder expected in early 1998.

"To our knowledge, this is the largest single order for DVD inspection equipment that has ever been awarded," said Charles J. Drake, President and Chairman. "We take this as an indication that the DVD industry is beginning to move forward and that the industry estimate of a five fold increase in production capacity for 1998 may be true. It also shows that Integral Vision remains a leader in this fast changing business."

Medar, Inc., an ISO 9001 registered firm, offers two unique areas of expertise to the industrial manufacturer: Machine vision-based inspection systems and resistance welding controls. Integral Vision, a Medar division, is a leading supplier of machine vision systems used to monitor or control the manufacturing process.
