National Labor Relations Board is out of control
By Boston Herald Editorial Staff
Friday, August 26, 2011 -

The Obama administration gives and the Obama administration takes — and so it goes.

On Tuesday the White House was touting a plan to cut $10 billion in needless regulations over the next five years. On Thursday the out-of-control National Labor Relations Board was announcing a new regulation requiring private employers to notify workers about their right to form a union.

Under the new reg, businesses will have to prominently display posters explaining the right to bargain collectively and engage in other union activity without reprisal.

Union membership in the private sector has been declining in recent years. Today only 6.9 percent of the private sector work force belongs to unions — something the Obama adminiistration apparently wants to “fix” as a favor to their high-donor labor union pals.
House Republicans seem intent on trying to rein in the NLRB. This just gives them more ammunition.
