sometimes becomes both a humorous art and a sport form. The bean eating scene in "Blazing Saddles" comes to mind. I heard a record back in the 50's with a "National Flatulance Contest" in it. The contestants would appear before an audience in tights with an appropriate hole. Hold on to a pole and try to outdo each other. One was disqualified when he shat.
