those guys should not speak about things they know nothing about. They say that most of Manhattan is built on landfill. Now where it is true that there are parts of Manhattan that are built on landfill, any building termed as a high rise must build on bedrock. you can actually see where the bedrock is relatively shallow in NYC by the profile of the skyline. Where the buildings are tall...bedrock is shallow. Where the buildings are short, the bedrock is deeper.


The WTC was built in a landfill area (hence why it is managed by the Port Authority). However, they had to dig down to the bedrock to set the foundation.
