<A classic case of Reg changing the subject when proven flat wrong>

Actually, not only am I quite right, but you are trying construct your own argument. We (Keith and I) were discussing the value added from MSFT management and whether there was any competition. I have shown the value of MSFT mgmt. and I have shown that their is a choice of OSs.

<Now we are talking about niche marketing, not the geniuses of Redmond who were the first ones to understand the GUI?>

I understand that you may be a programmer and may not be a business man, but let us run through the economic reality of the business ONE more time. Microsoft is in the business of SELLING SOFTWARE, and not coming up with ideas. Companies don't get paid for coming up with ideas, they get paid for SELLING PRODUCT and SERVICES. The first one to substantially manipulate and profit from an idea is the first on to understand from a realistic, economic, market driven point of view. Since we live in a capitalistic society, and are posting on Silicon INVESTOR, then this ideology tends to hold water.
