All of that correct. You truly believe any government (Obama????) would have been able to decide on an unconditional surrender - or anything else of any importance for that - within 72 hours???

Be reasonable, Harris.
They wanted to drop both bombs, one sample each of what they had, one U235 and one Plutonium.
The records of the results were kept secret until 1952.
But no doubt they were quite interesting.

Again, so far a good argument for dropping the 2nd bomb remains to be demonstrated by anybody.
Because nobody so far has been able to come up with one.
If you believe you have one, you really owe us all to write your book about it.

Steve, my opinion about the lack of necessity (to put it mildly) of dropping the 2nd bomb on Japan I formed a long time ago and quite a few years before I met my wife.
While I do appreciate your message to my (Japanese) wife in this matter, you may be surprised to hear, that she seems to be a lot more neutral on this issue as compared to my stance.

Kind of interesting, that in Japan one does not encounter any kind of that anti American feelings in the bars like in Germany.
Both nations losing out against the US in 2nd WW, but no bad feeling in Japan. Which one cannot say about Germany.

Again, since you have read a lot about the ending of WWII and how the bomb(s) on Japan were righteous, please point out to me where I can find that solid justification for the Nagasaki bomb just 3 days after the Hiroshima event.
