Most people read SI for an exchange of information which might help them make sound investment decisions . If you read the thread header " repeated off topic political discourse is grounds for banning" . Obviously banning is at Patron's discretion and if I were that concerned I would moderate a related thread but I spend considerable time reading investment related sites such as seeking alpha, zero hedge gold-eagle, fiend bear. Politics is like religion you will not get many converts but you will alienate many. This thread has many smart people of all political persuasions but I think it would be more productive for everyone to minmize the politics. This credit bubble was decades in the making and deficit spending goes back to Kennedy. History is full of examples of leaders who will sacrifice their citizens and their futures for power whether they are communists, socialists, fascists , republicans or democrats.
