I did watch the fourth episode of the Framed series I posted about the other and am glad I did, though I would still hesitate to recommend the whole series. I poked around on the net and discovered there are several different cuts, each more disjointed than the other. Really, it should have been two or three episodes rather than four.

I only watched episode 1 of that Palin series; can't say I recall him meeting anyone famous, just a series of locals who helped to provide local color. No idea what the rest of the series is like since going deeper into the Balkans never appealed to me much.
