I don't see how you deduce that my explanation makes "everyone who accepts help from the government is a scammer." from my post. Would you please explain your logic?

I firmly believe there are legitimate reasons for some people to ask for help........although if I had my way, most of it would come from private sources. I also firmly believe that of the millions and millions of people who receive "govt assistance", there are huge numbers who are scamming (or being lazy and refusing to work to support themselves and their families.)

SS is another subject all together. If the govt hadn't confiscated the money I've earned in the first place, I wouldn't be in the position of having to demand they give it back. See how that works!
