You are not listening to me on the religious issue

I don't mean to not listen to you but I'm not sure what it is you are afraid will happen. If Perry or Bachman were POTUS, what actions would they take, in your opinion, that would be taken because of their religion or religious views? Not to belittle your concern but is it a bit like when people thought that JFK would be taking orders from Rome?

The deficit is one issue and I suspect we agree on that, but bringing your religion into government is even a more dangerous trend.

First, Steve it is good to see you here. While we radically disagree on many things I believe you are unique on the left in that you recognize the severity of the budget issues in Washington. Your friends simply think it is always time to spend.

I submit to you that the economy and only the economy should be the issue of this election (includes the deficit). Other things like religion and ancestry are simple excuses some will use to vote their normal predispositions.

I cannot believe that in any contest the issue of religion can be used as an excuse for Obama. He has huge baggage on this issue - but for 2012 - it does not matter. I doubt religion is an issue Obama would want to be the center of discussion. Gentleman John gave him a pass on the Reverend Wrong - if it is an issue - I hope the R presidential candidate makes Reverend Wrong a nightly figure on the national media.

No more Gentleman John surrender!
