I would never call a "polished" person such as you "ignorant", however, Homeland Security contains the Border Patrol, Customs, Immigration, Counter Terrorism, Disaster Response and Recovery and many others. I have to assume or at least I draw the inference from your post that you simply wanted to severe the varied agencies, not dissolve them. Of course that is what you meant. After all is said, you could never be so ignorant of the impact has you "eliminate" these interests.

Department of Education exists only as a manner to control states. I agree, it should not exist on a Federal level.

I agree with disbanding the DHS for the reasons you stated.

It just has too much power that can be used against the citizens of the country.

Even now it is being used to implement policy that is counter to US laws.

The D of Ed is obvious.
