Just as one example, slavery was accepted by roughly half of the country, the other half opposed it. Our history is rife with examples of intolerance.

What happens when Ann Coulter shows up on a Campus ? Does the right attack liberal speakers on campus ? the left started this and finally the right has said enough is enough

I think you need to reconsider what made us a great nation. Toleration shouldn't be the end product by which we judge ourselves. If that was the case, we'd still have slavery and we'd still be listening to those who thought it was a good idea......

And you get 15 recommendations. The hate mongering towards those with nothing more than a difference of opinion makes me sick. It will be the downfall of America as we climb into our respective ideological corners and throw hate messages at each other - rather than work together to find a solution. Not sure who this is aimed at as that was a quote from BearCatBob. Nor did it seem particularly hateful to me -- Bob was saying nobody on the VfC thread had any "fiscal brains" but you, which is disparaging but hardly hate mongering, and is in fact complimentary towards you. Is "Bush Derangement Syndrome", Charles Krauthammer's coinage, "hate-mongering"? I thought it was a good description of the torrents of often irrational abuse that President Bush got from a Left that never accepted him as a legitimate President in the first place, and went crazy with frustration when he became a popular one on the back of 9/11 and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq (popular for a time, anyway).
