Bob Beckel was on the program, and actually said words to the effect of, "What's the point of having friends in high places if you can't rely on them to get you out of a jam like this?" When queried further, he essentially reconfirmed the statement -- that it was totally proper for a politician to bail his friends and family out. I thought it was a rather shocking admission.
