I don't have any sympathy for OBL and don't have a problem with him being dead. However, we base the credibility of our system on a premise under which ends are not used to justify a means. So if the method was illegal or immoral we have a problem. I was not aware that either is the case. There was a documentary a while back (don't have the source) which made some interesting observations. Rapists, serial murderers and child molesters have a longer life expectancy on death row, than prisoners in the general prison population. I would not have a problem with these people being dead either, but would want to know due process was employed. 97% of sex offenders (not considered heinous by most people, myself excluded) return to our communities. Community treatment programs have not been successful.
