What's so exciting about a thread with 35 posts that lasted 10 days, 6+ long years ago, and was just as boring and incorrect as you are now?

The Republicans are not going to get rid of social security, or take an axe to it, or even try to do either. Its a rather problematic program, but to many people have set up their lives relying on it, and the people who receive it are the group most likely to vote. Its not going any ware. We might get some modest reform of it, perhaps increased retirement ages, or a change in the COLA, or something else to get costs under control and keep the program fiscally viable, but unless the US goes totally bankrupt the program is likely here to stay.
