<<<History will show Obama made a fundamental error right out of the gate in not tackling the depression. >>>

I am not sure that was possible. The mistake was in the management of expectations. He had enough good will to "manage expectations".

Bush left us in terrible shape. We were on the precipice of a global catastrophe. We had to stop the bleeding and the recovery was going to be long and painful.

When you come down to it, "managing expectations" is what life is all about.

Right on all counts but it's hard to imagine Perry could be worse than Bush.

History will show Obama made a fundamental error right out of the gate in not tackling the depression.

I disagree.

He did tackle and at least has managed to avert so far, a depression, in the strict economic meaning of that word.

Interestingly the GOP seems to consider the lack of a depression, an economic outcome that was earned and should have occurred as a result of the disastrous administration of Shrub Bush, as an unchecked box.

They continue to do their level best to get us there.
