That's the same reason we tax "the rich", "the rich" being defined as someone with a job. It's not enough for the real rich running DC to be rich, they have to make sure the common folk will never be rich. Have you ever seen a congressman pass a law against himself? Being exempt to all of the laws they pass doesn't hurt either. The fools voting for democrats promising to "help" actually believe help is coming, even though the record shows it's only getting worse for the last 50 years. Find a leftie on SI that believes things are better now than they were four years ago.....
