While we may all see this case in this way from the West, the Japanese definitely see it the other way, their emperor Hirohito was the good guy and the military may have been the true criminals.

And please don't argue over this with me, I am not Japanese.


Of course, the Japanese people saw Hirohito as a good guy......in fact a God.
Of course, the military were to be blamed by the Japanese people. But in fact, if I recall history correctly, Hirohito was protected by Tojo's testimony during the war trials ....even to the extent that at first incriminating evidence against Hirohito was (encouraged by US officials) retracted. I also recall that from direct recollection of a Japanese official present during the surrender discussions that Hirohito's primary interest (as evidenced BY HIS OWN words) was his position as emperor. Hirohito should have hung with the rest of them.

Perhaps some others recall the details better than me.
