Rumors of my "leaving the building" are greatly exaggerated. I have been watching the thread all week, but I have been heavily involved with development meetings at my own software company this week, so I'm sorry for my absence in posting the last few days. As far as Comdex goes, here is what I know. SYCR has had two booth representations as part of the booths of two major distributors. They were featured products/companies at both booths. The traffic these distributors generate is substantial, so I think they have received more traffic than if they had one booth under just their name. Similar to the "mall" concept in retail. Also, SYCR has chartered a limo/bus (with their logo on the side) to shuttle VIPs around the strip, and presumably to meetings with SYCR reps. RP has been meeting with a variety of VIPs. RP is showing SYCRs products but also looking for independent developers with products that meet SYCR's Visionary requirements and that would be a good fit for SYCR to market. [Rod, insert your spin here]. This, by the way, is how they found Windrenalin. As far as the products being shown, they are focusing on BD, Zipper, and EC. As has already been reported, EC is getting some good press. I said in some of my earliest posts that EC was a great product for generating human-interest stories in magazine and TV. Nice to see this happening. I think this product will really have "legs" and will become a good, significant, long-term revenue producer for SYCR. New Products - I can't confirm that SYCR is showing (publicly, at least) their new products as yet. I had anticipated the one code-named "Elvis" being debuted, but I could be wrong. I hear now that the next one (for the current quarter, which means by Dec. 31) that will be released will be "Mercury", which in general, is primarily an Internet-based software updating system, like Oil Change. There is still a chance that some product news will be made before Comdex is over Friday, so we'll just have to wait and see. I do not know SYCR's product launch timetable as much as I know what's ON the table. Although this (Comdex) is certainly a perfect forum for them to preview their 98 products, there may be reasons (some of which might be competitive) for not showing them now. One that I can think of is the push-back date by Microsoft of Win98's release. If SYCR shows too much of their Win98 line now, they give competitors several months to produce "me too" products. So, for that reason, maybe rolling these out (including Elvis) at Spring Comdex would make more sense. Just my opinion, however. If I hear more news, I will report back as soon as I have it. Maybe we will be pleasantly surprised before the end of the week. Bye for now. Tim
