You're right. Free trade has been terrible for America. We didn't need the rest of the world to be prosperous. We had it all our way in the 50's. The rest of the world needed us. Free trade exposes American workers to competition from cheap foreign labor. Our representatives should have been protecting American workers from this but they didn't. Instead with free trade they made it possible for whole factories and industries to move over seas and then sell their products in the US without any protective tariffs. American workers lost. Our high standard of living has been given away to foreigners. It's treason.
