I agree that QNTM will eventual move up in accordance with it's growth and earnings performance. For a while, the market is effected by Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt (FUD). A few weeks ago the price was over 40 but few investors were concerned about a major slowdown in Asia or severe price pressure on mid range capacity desktop drives. The market is not going to simply ignore these factors. Many institutions and other investors have either sold or are taking a wait and see attitude about re-entering the market for Quantum, or any other HD drive mfg. for that matter.

In a climate like this, good news tends to get dispelled (wasted) and minor bad news, such as problems in related companies, has a very negative effect. So what do people want Quantum to do? Jump up and say everything is OK every time the market takes another jab down? It might seem to make sense, but do you think Quantum knows for sure what this quarter's numbers will turn out to be this early in the quarter? Maybe earnings will be effected by a penny or three and Quantum will end up looking like fools and losing some cridbility with analysts for speaking too early. Usually a stock or sector bottoms when additional marginal bad news has little or no effect because it is already factored into the market (people's thinking). I don't think we've quite reached that point yet and will either trend sideways or a small bit up. If we get a dispelling of the market fears, as I think sentiment for the IPEC meeting tried to do earlier this week, then the market should form a base and move up. It may be 2-3 months or longer before we are back around 40. That's just my guess based on what's going on in the markets and historical valuation and price trends for Quantum.
