In truth, I am not qualified to give financial advice and will not attempt to do so. FWIW I can say what my *opinion* is of your analysis and what I am doing. Disclaimer is it is only worth its cost to you! (ZIP!)
Your analysis seems clear of what has happened since the <collapse of the Bretton Woods agreements>. The conclusion as to the utltimate (recent) effect on the US dollar seems also correct. I will run this buy a friend or two who are economists for better points. *My* caveats are, currently, since the fall of USSR and the Gulf War the US has enjoyed the singular position of premier economy and superpower, hence are we not now enjoying an economic Pax Americana as the Roman Empire did but with more subtle political/economic persuasion substituted for the Roman military conquest. Very neat and tidy, we don't want their countries (who wants to maintain a conquest these days) just their money<G> If they were getting rich and draining us why aren't we drained already!? Oh BTW, the emperor (US dollar) has no clothes but everyone is glad to keep their eyes closed, at least until the Euro, which may be as naked as a Jaybird too!
Also, if they are getting rich it is to buy our high value goods just like we pumped up Europe and Japan after WWII so they could buy what we produced.
Now here is what I am buying or may buy.
I like silver stocks at good prices, PAASF under 7 7/8, SSC 7/8 or less, HL 5 or less. I am about even on average here.
I feel a silver corner is in the future.
Currently I am down pretty hard with ECO, may average on bottom (thought I did that Friday!<g>)
Looking for a good call price on silver or a silver stock.
Consider OEX put at right time, also gold call *at right time*
Currently making more with BCMD than losing on ECO, this is a *specualtive* stock but see the thread here, could go good!
I don't play with T Bills or Bank stocks.
Finally looking for a good oil stock at right time and place.
I was in ORX, SESI, sold out a bit ago (perfect hit on SESI 9 to high, but too light).
BTW right times/places mentioned are not known yet<g>
SO I really have little to add to your well presented post,
in conclusion....
Well, I may not be a financial genius, but I am honest!
That is one thing I hope you can count on with me. I dislike people who play games or lie to influence people.

Best regards,

Roebear
