Ed, I agree - Bush claimed credit for an increase in home ownership. None the less - Republicans during his administration tried to reign in Fannie and Freddie. To the extent that Bush did not reign them in is to his shame. So yes - Bush failed to control the Ds running Fannie and Freddie. The point is - the rant that Bush gave us the financial crisis is simply that - a rant designed to infuriate the uniformed. Of course that kind of crap was the type of "change you can believe in" lie so many fell for. I would say none of our problems can be attributed to individuals. We can simply say the the supposed "leader" of our nation is doing NOTHING to make things better. Bob
